Travelers Championship: What To Watch For In Round 2

After two fabulous weeks of golf at the Charles Schwab Challenge and RBC Heritage, both complete with fantastic leaderboards and fun finishes, the PGA Tour will run its third event since returning from a three-month hiatus amid the coronavirus pandemic with the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.

The Travelers Championship will also host an awesome field at what has become one of the premier destinations on the PGA Tour’s circuit. Unfortunately, the field strength did take a small hit with the news that world No. 4 Brooks Koepka and last week’s RBC Heritage winner Webb Simpson were among five golfers who decided withdraw from the tournament due to COVID-19-related concerns.

Despite all of that, we have a pretty stacked leaderboard after 18 holes. The course is opening up for plenty of birdies and the players are taking advantage. Everyone is after Mackenzie Hughes, who opened the tournament with a 10-under 60 effort (with the chance for 59 on the final hole). But big names like Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia are looking to take the lead heading into the weekend on Friday.

Here’s how you can follow the action from Cromwell, Connecticut all week long.
